Chrome release

Scrollsmith is available in the Chrome Web Store.

Install Scrollsmith directly from its official Chrome Web Store listing.

Five straightforward steps

From the Store to your first theme.

The public release will use Chrome's standard installation flow. No developer mode, downloaded ZIP, or manual folder setup will be required.

  1. Install from the official listing

Open Scrollsmith in the Chrome Web Store, select Add to Chrome, review the permission notice, and confirm.

  2. Pin it where you can reach it

Open Chrome's Extensions menu, find Scrollsmith, and select the pin icon. The Scrollsmith button will stay beside the address bar.

  3. Choose your first theme

Open the Scrollsmith button and try Minimal, Glass, or Neon. Adjust the width, corner radius, and accent color if you want.

  4. Reload pages that were already open

Refresh any website that was open before installation. New pages will receive your selected theme automatically.

  5. Stay in control on every site

Use the main switch to turn Scrollsmith off everywhere, or disable it only for the website you are currently viewing.

What Chrome will ask

Permission to style website scrollbars.

Scrollsmith needs access to ordinary websites so it can apply your chosen scrollbar styles. It does not need access to read passwords, messages, form entries, or page content.

Some pages cannot be styled

Chrome-owned pages, the Chrome Web Store, and some built-in PDF views do not allow extension styling. That is normal and does not mean installation failed.

Need a hand?

If a theme does not appear, confirm Scrollsmith is enabled, reload the page, and check that the website is not in your disabled list.
