Privacy procedure template · Effective August 7, 2026
Delete your data
Template requiring professional legal review. Confirm the production account-deletion workflow, retention obligations, support mailbox, and provider procedures before publication.
Clear local extension settings
- Open the Scrollsmith extension popup or options page.
- Use Reset to restore global theme settings.
- Remove saved per-site presets and disabled-site entries that you no longer want.
- Choose Sign out to remove the local account session and request server-side session revocation.
You may also remove the extension through Chrome's extension-management page. Chrome controls the final removal of extension-local storage. Clearing local settings does not delete your website account, Stripe customer record, or records that must be retained by service providers.
Delete your account
- Sign in at usescrollsmith.com.
- Open Account Settings.
- Use the account-deletion control and complete any confirmation step.
If the self-service control is unavailable, email hello@usescrollsmith.com from the email address associated with the account and request "Account deletion." Do not send your password, card number, or unnecessary identity documents.
Identity verification
We may verify a request through the signed-in session, the account email address, or another proportionate method. We will not ask for your password. If we cannot reasonably verify that you control the account, we may ask for limited additional information or decline to act until verification is complete.
What account deletion covers
Subject to applicable retention requirements, account deletion is intended to remove or de-identify:
- Supabase authentication user and profile records.
- Cloud-stored theme preferences and per-site presets, if cloud synchronization is enabled.
- Active extension authorization codes and extension sessions.
- Account-linked entitlements and product-access records that do not need to be retained.
Billing and legally retained records
Before deleting an account, cancel an active subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal. Deleting the account does not necessarily cancel a Stripe subscription unless the production deletion workflow explicitly does so. We may retain limited invoices, transaction identifiers, subscription history, refunds, fraud-prevention records, security logs, and deletion-request records when required for tax, accounting, legal claims, security, or compliance.
Stripe and other providers may retain information under their own legal obligations and policies. A request to delete Scrollsmith data does not automatically delete an independent Stripe or Chrome account.
Backups and completion
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups or provider recovery systems until overwritten under standard retention cycles. It will not be restored to active use except for disaster recovery, security, or legal requirements. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and confirm completion or explain any permitted exception.
Other privacy requests
You may also request access, correction, export, restriction, or objection where applicable. State the request clearly and send it to hello@usescrollsmith.com. See the Privacy Policy for more information.
