Acceptable use
Template requiring professional legal review. This draft is not legal advice and must be aligned with the Terms of Service and enforcement practices in California, United States.
This Acceptable-Use Policy applies to Scrollsmith, usescrollsmith.com, the extension, accounts, APIs, support channels, and paid features. You must use the Service lawfully and in a way that does not harm users, third parties, or the Service.
Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Use the Service to violate law, regulation, court order, contract, privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Probe, scan, exploit, disrupt, overload, or bypass the Service, authentication, entitlement, payment, rate-limit, access-control, or security systems without written authorization.
- Access or attempt to access another user's account, tokens, preferences, billing records, or personal information.
- Fabricate Premium entitlement, avoid valid charges, abuse refunds, initiate fraudulent disputes, or resell an account contrary to the applicable plan.
- Introduce malware, harmful code, credential theft, deceptive redirects, unwanted advertising, or tracking into a modified extension or any package distributed under the Scrollsmith name.
- Impersonate Scrollsmith or its operator, falsely claim endorsement by a browser or website, or use branding in a misleading manner.
- Use automated requests at a volume that unreasonably burdens the website, API, authentication, billing, or support systems.
- Submit passwords, payment-card information, private webpage content, unlawful content, or unnecessary sensitive information through support channels.
- Interfere with native scrolling, accessibility, keyboard navigation, or security in a redistributed modification while representing it as an official build.
Security research
This Policy does not create a public bug-bounty program or authorize testing of production systems. Report suspected vulnerabilities to hello@usescrollsmith.com. Do not access other users' information, persist after confirming a vulnerability, cause service interruption, use social engineering, or publicly disclose an uncorrected issue without coordination and lawful authority.
Fair use of support and APIs
Use official interfaces for their documented purpose. Do not spam support, repeatedly create accounts to evade restrictions, scrape private account information, or use the entitlement API as a general tracking or data service. Reasonable automated security controls and rate limits may be applied.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and, when reasonably necessary, limit sessions, suspend access, revoke entitlements obtained through abuse, preserve relevant records, or report unlawful conduct. Where required by law or appropriate to the risk, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond. Enforcement should be proportionate and documented.
Reporting abuse
Send abuse reports to hello@usescrollsmith.com. Include the account or event involved and enough detail to evaluate the report. Do not include unrelated sensitive information.
